Roles and Responsibilities
To advance our goals, Climate HQ is hiring a Program and Communications Student Intern. As a Program and Communications Student Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our staff with various Climate HQ projects. This includes the following roles and responsibilities:
- Work closely with the team to organize and plan on and off campus events relating to climate and environmental justice.
- Support the operations of the Climate HQ space in Hensill Hall 525 and provide assistance to visitors and students.
- Contribute to our expansive social media platforms, where you will create engaging content, consider how to reach new audiences, and help Climate HQ maintain an active online presence.
- Conduct outreach to fellow SFSU students through tabling and other creative methods, promoting Climate HQ initiatives and events.
- Assist Climate HQ staff in designing engaging marketing content, developing and utilizing your written communication and graphic design skills to create visually impactful materials.
- Capture photos and videos at various Climate HQ-related events by documenting the experiences, enhancing our reach, and ensuring organized file management to record our efforts throughout campus.
- Attend regular Climate HQ and related meetings and events to further enrich your understanding of the organization's climate justice centered mission and get involved in networking and learning opportunities with staff, faculty, and students across campus.
Job Duration: This internship opportunity spans the 2025 - 2026 academic year. The specific start date and end date will be communicated upon selection. Students who apply must be an active SFSU student throughout the duration of the internship.

Position Details:
- This internship opportunity is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
- This position requires a commitment of 10 - 15 hours per week
Compensation:
- $20 per hour for undergraduate students
- $25 per hour for masters students

Soft Skills

Hard Skills
- Familiarity with social media and how to engage with an audience.
- Exceptional graphic design skills to create visually appealing materials.
- Knowledge of photography and ability to capture compelling images.
- Experience in videography, including filming and editing videos.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of student organizations and their dynamics.
