Climate HQ's 4th Annual Earth Week Film Festival

Please join Climate HQ for our 4th Annual Earth Week FilmFest on Thursday, April 23 from 5:30pm-7pm in Coppola Theater.

This year we are featuring two short films, “Ndjimu (Deep Cobalt)” directed by Congolese filmmaker and activist Petna Ndaliko Katondolo & “In the Maritime Frequencies” directed by School of Cinema professor Greta Snider.

In addition, student projects produced by the Climate HQ Storytellers Fellows will also be featured as part of this special screening. These short audio-visual projects, produced as part of the Climate HQ Storytellers Lab, tell students’ stories of climate and ecological struggle, justice, and resilience.

The annual Climate HQ Earth Week FilmFest is co-produced with the School of Cinema’s Marcus Endowed Chair of Social Justice Filmmaking and co-sponsored by Race & Resistance Studies and the SFSU Office of Sustainability.

Free dinner will be provided after the screenings for all participants and attendees! Please arrive early to secure your seat.

This conversation will engage issues such as the intensification of labor precarity, privatization, war and violence, as well as data and ecological extraction at SF State and beyond. An op-ed writing workshop led by the Scholars Strategy Network will follow the talk.

Bike to School Day - Climate HQ and The Bike Coalition

Join the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition and the SFSU Climate HQ for a fun, beginner-friendly group ride starting at Daly City BART and ending at campus. This is a great opportunity to get comfortable with biking in SF, learn about safe bike routes in the area, and meet other students who bike. This ride is a climate solution in action – choosing bikes over cars reduces emissions, improves air quality, and builds healthier, more connected communities.

We will have two group rides on the morning of Tuesday, March 3, 2026 to accommodate students arriving at different times. The first group will ride at 8:45am and arrive at campus around 9am. The second group will ride at 10:15am and arrive at campus around 10:30am.

Hot coffee, hot cocoa, and donuts will be provided. We will also provide free Bay Wheels codes to anyone who needs a bike.

Not sure how to bring your bike on BART? Check out this website for guidelines and information.

Biking is a fun and sustainable way to get to campus and this is your chance to learn how to join in! Everyone is welcome.
